Welcome

The Rev’d Wally Cox shares what our church is all about and what you can expect when you visit. Everyone is welcome. We hope to see you soon!

About Us

01.

We Are Christian

We love, follow, and worship Jesus Christ. We love him because he has loved us and has brought life and salvation to the world through his death and resurrection. We follow him because he has showed us how to love others, and his love compels us to share that love with the world. We worship him because he is God and worthy of our adoration.

02.

We Are Anglican

Being Anglican shapes our worship and our theology, and it connects us into a world-wide fellowship of churches. No two Anglican churches are exactly the same, as each church is shaped by its own members, ministers, and history. But Anglican worship is focused on Jesus Christ and his gospel, it emphasises reading scripture, and it encourages congregational participation.

03.

We Are Evangelical

The word ‘evangelical’ basically means gospel-minded. We are a church that truly believes that Jesus has brought salvation and life to the world. While our many sins once separated us from God, Jesus has brought forgiveness and reconciliation through his death and resurrection. This love of God is offered to all, and it is received by coming to Jesus in faith.

Sunday

We meet each Sunday at 10:30am. On a normal Sunday we pray together, we read the Bible, we sing songs in celebration of what God has done for us, we encourage one another, and we remind each other of the hope that we have in Jesus. Everyone is welcome, and you’ll quickly find that we are a church family where you can belong.

We have Kids Church every week. The kids start in church with everybody else, and part-way through they head out together for a bible story, games, and craft.

Ministries

We provide a range of ministries for all ages, serving our members and community.
Growth Groups are the small group ministry of our church. We meet each week to look at the bible, pray, and care for each other. They offer a rich time of fellowship, relationships and helping each other to grow in our faith.
Kids Church is our Sunday children’s ministry program run by volunteers where our children learn about God and His salvation plan, play games, make craft, learn what’s in the Bible and why it’s such a special book.

Kids Club is for primary school aged children and it’s a lot of fun! It meets on Thursdays at 4:30pm, during school term. We sing songs, play games, do some craft, have dinner together, and hear about the amazing love that God has for each of us. Cost: $4 per child (max. $10 per family).

Baptism symbolises the washing away of sin and our new birth as children of God. And we love baptising people! If you are considering baptism, for yourself or your children, then we would love to think through this important decision with you.

Wally Cox
Rector of St Mark’s
Wally came to St. Mark’s at the end of 2020, after studying psychology at Newcastle University and theology at Moore Theological College. He is married to Jordon, and they have three boys (Augustine, Edward, and Wesley). Wally entered ministry because he loves reading the bible with people and talking about Jesus. But when he isn’t talking about Jesus, you’ll probably catch him playing snooker or watching Star Wars.
Bec Choi
Assistant Minister
Bec grew up in Sydney and has lived in Orange with her family since 2008. She is married to Yooie and has four children of university and school age. Bec loves being outside in the garden, exploring local walking tracks and escaping cold winters in local cafes with friends. Bec is keen to grow women’s and family ministry in both Blayney and Millthorpe. Her desire is to see people’s lives changed by the good news of Jesus.
